INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION AT THE INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION MANAGEMENT IN HO CHI MINH CITY: CURRENT STATUS AND SOLUTIONS
Abstract
The objective of the study is to examine the current status of international cooperation activities (ICAs) at the Institute of Education Management in Ho Chi Minh City (IEMH) and to propose strategic solutions to enhance the effectiveness of these activities. The research methodology employed in the article is a mixed-methods approach, including qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys with key stakeholders such as lecturers, staff, students, and international partners. The results indicate that ICAs at IEMH are conducted within the context of limited resources, particularly in terms of human and financial resources. The study also identifies the ICA being carried out at IEMH include international projects, events, workshops and conferences; faculty and trainee exchanges; and the establishment of transnational research and teaching groups. The effectiveness of international cooperation (IC) is rated low in most indicators. The solutions proposed in the study are based on the needs and characteristics of the institution, aligning with both Vietnamese and international legal regulations.
