Discussion on primary sentences and additional sentences in Vietnam’s criminal law from the experience of some countries in the world

Abstract

The views on primary sentences and additional sentences in some countries around the world currently have many trends of change, reflected in new and different regulations compared to the Penal Code of Vietnam. The article focuses on analyzing the theoretical basis of the classification of primary and additional sentences applied to offender, and through the legislative experience learned in the law from a number of countries around the world, it makes some recommendations to improve the Vietnamese law on this content.
