Feedback from students on the teaching methods in the module of English for special purposes at Vinh University of Medicine

Abstract

This article presents the results of a survey of feedback from students in Vinh Medical University (VMU) on the teaching methods used in the professional English language module in oder to build a basis for testing a new method in the context that most of classes here have a very large number of students, making it difficult to apply pair and group work in class. The results showed that up to 71.5% of respondents were not truly satisfied with the methods. They were not so helpful in promoting active learning, collaboration and soft skill development for learners. Most of respondents consider their listening and speaking skills to be weak.
