ABSTRACT
The development of Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) is being considered as an optimal
technology solution for organizations that need to manage information effectively. This paper presents the
functional groups of EDMS and some of the technological and technical methods used to manage electronic
documents. The article also presents some advantages, benefits and some shortcomings of EDMS. The article
also outlines some of the current potential of EDMS and shows that the EDMS development industry is in a
prosperous development cycle.
