ABSTRACT
The study was conducted on Melaleuca leucadendra leaves with the aim of separating the essential oil and
determining the chemical composition of Melaleuca leucadendra leaf oil grown at the An Bien forestry farm,
An Minh village, Ca Mau province. In vestigation of influencing factors in essential oil distillation using the
classical steam –enticing distillation method. The resulting factors in essential oil has a characteristic perilla
aroma. Determination of chemical composition by gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The
results showed that the chemical composition of essential oils obtained by steam-enticing distillation method
consisted of 2 substances, of which cineol content accounted for the highest concentration of Eucalyptol
(45-60,2%)
