ABSTRACT
Historical figures are an integral part of history lessons, to help students gain insight into the historical
process. Until now, history teachers have often paid much attention to teaching about political and
revolutionary figures, with little mention of characters operating in the field of science and technology. When
implementing the 2018 general education program, the openness of the program allows teachers to use a
variety of learning materials and methods of organizing activities to develop students’ capacity. Through
the content of teaching about the resistance war against the French colonialists (1945-1954), this article
proposes learning resources from the heritage of Vietnamese scientists to contribute to better history teaching.
