AN EVALUATION OF THE FRAMEWORK OF THE ENGLISH PROFICIENCY TRAINING PROGRAM AND TEACHING-SUPPORTED SOFTWARE

Abstract

This article is to present the data on the satisfaction of teachers and teacher
trainers about the framework of the Training Program of English Competence and
Supported Software for Primary and Junior High School Teachers under the National
Foreign Languages 2020 Project. Two survey questionnaires including close-ended 5-point
Likert scale questions and open-ended questions were used to investigate 5037 teachers of
English (teacher trainees), and 180 university teachers (teacher trainers) all over the
country. The descriptive results showed that the Training Program responded to teachers’
need; however, there existed some teacher trainnees and teacher trainers who were not
satisfied with the framework of the Training Program and wanted some changes with this
Training Program.
