Abstract

Orientation of educational reformation in recent times mainly focuses on competency- based learning in which learners are asked to perform real-world tasks that demonstrate meaningful application of essential knowledge and skills. Authentic Assessment is a form of assessment which requries learners to apply previously acquired knowledge and skills to accomplish a specific task. Through this assessment, students’ performances in the task will be evaluated with the rubric. Thanks to student’s proficiency, students could easily know their proficieny, compared with the models of good performance. This article demonstrates how to use Authentic assessment in higher education in the competency-based approach for teaching and learning .
