CURRENT STATE OF INTEGRATING HISTORY AND ETHICS TEACHING FOR MATHEMATICS COURSES AT THE THUONGMAI UNIVERSITY
Abstract
Integrating the teaching of history and ethics (civic education) into mathematics courses not only enriches the content but also brings significant benefits to the comprehensive development of learners. This article presents the current situation and experience in integrating history and ethics when teaching mathematics courses at the university level. Specifically, when teaching certain concepts or methods, we will introduce the historical development and relevant information about the scientists who developed these concepts. Additionally, the article shares famous and humanistic quotes from the scientists to convey profound ethical messages to students. This approach can be applied to various subjects at different educational levels, from primary to university and postgraduate studies.
