Humanitarian inspiration in Nguyen Tri's short stories

Abstract

In Tri Khung tu truyen, Nguyen Tri said: “For me, literature simply has to make people good” (Nguyen Tri, 2017c). The above statement is also the artistic conception that clearly shows the humanistic inspiration in each of his writings. Nguyen Tri, who has left many imprints on contemporary Vietnamese literature, is fairly successful in his short story genre on the destitute lives at the bottom of society, the unfortunate fates struggling to make a living, pushing to the end of suffering to expose the dark sides of society; behind still sparkles the desire of all mankind to live in honest, hope for happiness in a normal life even though it is just small and simple.
