Abstract

Psychanalysis is the approach of studying the unconscious life of people. Dating back to around the early twentieth century in the West, psychoanalysis quickly entered Vietnam and became one of the prominent criticisms. Applying psychoanalytic theory in literary research, researchers can detect the psychological state of the writer or the characters in the literary work, thereby helping them to penetrate more deeply the world around them. The article interprets some types of people in the novel on the topic of Southwest border war from a psychoanalytic perspective. Psychoanalytic theory is a precious key to unlock the unconscious part hidden deep in the image of words.
