Abstract

Objective: To test content validity and reliability of the Vietnamese MBI-MP questionnaire among nurses in Vietnam. Methods: The study included 220 healthcare providers. To evaluate test-retest reliability, 120 participants were tested twice with a 2-week interval between tests. For validity, five experts were tested content validity by items of the content validity index (I-CVI) and scale-level content validity index (S-CVI/Ave). Results: Reliability was confirmed by internal consistency (Cronbach α were 0.85, 0.92, and 0.95 for emotional exhaustion - EE, depersonalization - DP, and personal accomplishment - PA, respectively). Test-retest reliability (intraclass correlation coefficient - ICC were 0.84, 0.92, 0.96 for EE, DP, PA, respectively). For validity, I-CVIs were 0.8 to 1.0, S-CVI/Ave were 0.9. Conclusions: The Vietnamese MBI-MP had satisfactory content validity and reliability for assessing burnout among nurses in Vietnam
