ATTRACTION OF TAIWAN (CHINA) TO IMMIGRANT KNOWLEDGE FROM VIETNAM IN RECENT YEARS

Abstract

In recent years, Taiwan (China) has attracted many people with the opportunity
to acquire Taiwanese (Chinese) citizenship, of which the number of Vietnamese immigrants
in Taiwan (China) has recently been very high. Some regulations have been changed to relax
foreigners who want to immigrate to Taiwan to attract intellectuals to stay and contribute;
at the same time, those who want to naturalize must also meet the legal requirements of the
host country. Taiwan (China) is a place that attracts jobs and has good income compared
to Asia and their culture is very close to Vietnam. The research focuses on Vietnamese people
with a master’s degree or higher who came to Taiwan to study and then stayed in Taiwan
to immigrate legally. The research uses in-depth interviews. The research aims to find out
the reasons why they naturalized, and what difficulties and advantages before and after
immigration in their lives. This paper presents the root cause explaining the immigration of
Vietnamese intellectuals to Taiwan (China) as a livelihood strategy to build economic life,
improve income, and receive social benefits. This is also an indispensable need of humans.
