OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES IN STRENGTHENING POLITICAL RIGHTS FOR ETHNIC MINORITY WOMEN IN THE CURRENT PERIOD

Abstract

Enhancing the status and role of women in the political system has become a
current issue for many countries and international communities. In Vietnam, the Party and
the State have issued numerous policies to empower for women to contribute in all aspects
of social life, including women from ethnic minority groups. However, in reality, there are
still many obstacles hindering ethnic minority women from exercising their political rights,
such as customs, outdated beliefs, difficulties in accessing and lacking knowledge regarding
politics, especially in remote areas. This article presents and analyzes the opportunities and
challenges in promoting political rights for ethnic minority women in the current period, and
suggests solutions to enhance their political rights
