Enhancing Environmental Law enforcement in Vietnam by internally legitimating Basel Convention 1989

Abstract

Until now, the Basel Convention 1989 on the Control of Trans-boundary Movement of Hazardous Wastes and their Disposal with its 29 Articles and 09 Appendices has been still considered to be one of the most significant international treaties on hazardous wastes. Vietnam’s adherence to this Convention in 1995 contributed to generally adjusting the situation and setting out a legal framework for controlling the trans-boundary movement of hazardous wastes.
