Impact of Covid-19 pandemic on human rights and jurisdiction in Vietnam

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has forced nations to both ensure their obligations to respect, protect and guarantee human rights – the noblest and most universal human values and uphold the rule of law, even in case of emergency. The article analyzes current international and Vietnamese laws when applying urgent measures to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic and its impacts on human rights and civil rights last time. Thereby, the author proposes some measures to not only ensure human rights in the context of a similar pandemic in the future but also implement the rule of law.
