Provisions on protecting human life and health in Vietnamese criminal law and suggestions for improvement from some nations’ experience

Abstract

One of the most vital personal rights recognized and protected by the Constitution and the legal system is the inalienable right to human life and health. In Vietnam, the 2015 Penal Code regulates these infringing acts with punishing sanctions in order to protect human life and health. The article analyzes a number of provisions of the 2015 Penal Code on the protection of human life and health, introduces these regulation of some other nations and then makes recommendations for improvement.
