Current status of self-affirmation needs of students at Vietnam Women’s Academy
Abstract
The article addresses the current situation of the need for self-affirmation of students at the Vietnam Women’s Academy. Research results show that: The need for self-affirmation of students at the Vietnam Women’s Academy in the study was assessed at an average level. The need to express oneself is appreciated by students more than the need to be recognized. The need to demonstrate ability, creativity and decision-making is desired by students to be affirmed at a higher level than the need to be recognized for their ability, loved and respected by others. The need for self-affirmation is higher in men than in women, the second year is higher than the first year, and students living in rural areas have a lower need for self-affirmation than students living in urban areas. The need for self-affirmation of business administration students is the highest, followed by law, social work and psychology. The researched students’ need for self-affirmation is expressed in a variety of ways and there are many factors that impact this need. If measures are taken to organize group activities and individual psychological counseling activities for students, it can enhance and fulfill these needs of the students.
