Improving the quality of teaching and learning speaking skills for first-year students majoring in English at Military Science Academy
Abstract
Speaking skills play a very important role in assessing each individual's English level. According to Nunan (1991): “For most learners, mastering speaking is the most important factor in the process of learning a foreign language, and success in speaking is assessed by the ability to develop a conversation in that language.” Therefore, foreign language learners who want to master speaking skills need to practice to be confident in their ability to convey that language. Within the scope of the article, the author focuses on analyzing and pointing out the factors that affect the teaching and learning of speaking skills for first-year students at Military Science Academy and suggests some solutions to improve speaking skills for them in the future.
