Life skill education for children plays an important role in children’s comprehensive development, contributing to the formation of necessary qualities and competencies, and preparing children for primary school and future life. The paper presents our investigation, which based on the responses by local education managers and teachers, about the current situation of life skill education for 5-6-year-old children in kindergartens in Go Quao district, Kien Giang province in such asoects as the roles, objectives, contents, methods and forms of education, testing and assessment, means of organizing life skill education. Accordingly, the strengths and limitations of the current situation can be drawn out to serve as the background for further research work and proposed measures to manage life skill education for 5-6-year-old children in the coming time.
