Abstract
This study analyzes the impact of the cross-feed rate (denoted as Sn) on the surface roughness (Ra) when grinding SKD11 steel, which has been heat-treated to achieve a hardness of 58HRC – 62HRC. This type of steel is commonly used in the production of molds and high-load structural components. To calculate and establish the relationship between the cross-feed rate and surface roughness, the research was conducted on a RIC-DL3060AH surface grinding machine with carefully controlled processing parameters. The results provide a theoretical foundation for proposing optimization strategies for the machining process.
