Han Nom heritage in Phu Yen - some solutions to preserve and promote the values of Han Nom heritage in Phu Yen

Abstract

The Han Nom heritage in Phu Yen was formed and developed following the historical process of the land of Phu Yen over 400 years since the name Phu Yen was established in 1611. Through the collections from relics and family worshipping houses through years..., we have collected a volume of Han Nom heritage including 232 ordinations, 75 degrees, 17 epitaphs and a small number of orations and genealogies. Han-Nom sources in Phu Yen currently exist mainly in folklore, some are kept in communal houses, pagodas, and private collectors and are at risk of disappearance. From that situation, we propose some solutions to preserve and promote the values of this type of heritage.
