Analysis and evaluation of well water quality for daily living purposes in Phu Hoa district, Phu Yen province

Abstract

The study was conducted in Phu Hoa town and 8 communes in Phu Hoa district to evaluate the quality of the well water used in Phu Hoa district, Phu Yen province. 16 water samples were taken from the drilled wells and dug wells in Phu Hoa district for quality analysis and evaluation. The results showed that some well water samples in some communes were polluted with organic components, iron and coliform. Concentrations of parameters such as total iron, ammonium, nitrate and total coliforms in some well water samples exceeded the permitted limits stipulated in QCVN 09-MT: 2015 / BTNMT and QCVN 02: 2009 / BYT. The result of this study has yielded a more comprehensive assessment of groundwater quality in Phu Hoa district, enabled the authorities to establish more rational plans for groundwater resources management, and promulgated timely recommendations to the local people in exploiting and using the groundwater resources.
