SOLUTIONS TO DEVELOP TOURISM IN RELATION TO RESERVING AND MAINTAINING CULTURAL VALUES OF OLD QUARTERS

Abstract

The values of Old Quarters in Hanoi has been proved. This reflects on the
harmony among housing architecture, religious buildings, antique trades, Hanoian
lifestyle, customs and festivals related to relics, craft streets, etc. These are valuable
cultural resources which will help the capital's authorities develop a sustainable tourism
industry. In the strategy for developing tourism, Hanoi city recognizes that its strength will
focus on developing cultural tourism. Besides, the craft villages travel and leisure travel
with many great potentialities are also concerned. To be able to achieve these above goals,
Hanoi city needs to have suitable directions and solutions to develop tourism in
relationship with reserving as well as maintaining values of Old Quarters.
