Abstract

Reading comprehension is one of the elements of language competence and is one of the core competencies that need to be formed for primary school, especially Grade 1. The 2018 Vietnamese curriculum focuses on teaching reading comprehension in two basic types: Literary text and Informational text. Literary text not only accounts for large amount of the corpus system but also appears in specific requirements in the output standards for Grade 1. In the framework of this article, the author focuses on researching the issue related to the orientation in teaching reading comprehension of literary text for Grade 1 in the Vietnamese textbook “Connecting knowledge with life”
