TU LUC VAN DOAN IN THE PROGRESS OF MODERNIZATION OF VIETNAMESE NOVEL IN THE EARLY TWENTIETH CENTURY

Abstract

In the period from the beginning of the twentieth century to the August Revolution of 1945, the rapid occurence in the process of modernizing Vietnamese literature in general and the novel genre in particular was evident, in which Tu luc van doan played a crucial role. In this article, a survey of some typical novels of writers belonging to the corps was
conducted, with the desire to point out their contributions to the modernization of the novel form in some basic aspects such as ideological content, topics or characters. Among these, one of the things that makes up the value of Tu luc van doan's novel is the writers' sights and cares about individual liberation, the respect of life-right, love-right, happiness and the first and foremost one is the right to be human nature
