Abstract

There was a rising crisis relating to Vietnamese novels from 1975 to 1986. The
revolutionary prose in regard to its paradigm later exploded with some paradigmatic
representatives: Nguyen Huy Thiep, Pham Thi Hoai, Tran Dan, Bao Ninh, Ta Duy Anh,
Ho Anh Thai, Nguyen Binh Phuong. It brought many differences to writing in terms of
organizing multi-point narrative, appreciating readers' creativity, driving readers’ interest
from story to text/discourse, constructing the novel based on the stream of consciousness
model, and using the fragmental structure, etc. Their stories have performed the mission of
paradigm shift that turned Vietnamese prose in general and novels in particular into the
modernist paradigm called “writing about adventure to the adventure of writing”.
