ALLOCATING, MANAGING AND PROTECTING FOREST IN QUANG NAM

Abstract

he allocation of forests to local ethnic minorities in the Western Central for
management and protection is the right policy of Vietnam Party and State. For years, this
work has been carried out quite well and initially gained significant achievements such as
preserving and protecting forest resources, as well as discovering more information about
biodiversity in public forests while conducting the patrols throughout the forest. Besides,
forest patrol also prevents deforestation, the issue of hunting wild animals and illegally
grazing cattle, etc. These success are due to practical payments for forest environmental
services which contribute to the decrease of hunger and poverty, and promote the socioeconomic development of local ethnic minorities in many provinces in Western Central
