KINH-IZATION FACTORS IN THE LINEAGE RELATIONSHIP OF TAY ETHNIC IN QUANG LANG COMMUNE, CHI LANG DISTRICT, LANG SON PROVINCE

Abstract

Tay - Viet relationship was established early in history and became closer and closer through mixed residence, goods and cultural exchange, trade, marriage relationship which have influenced and changed the lineage relations of the Tay people in Quang Lang
commune following the trend of Kinh-ization. Clan organization, religious practice, cultural activities, assistance in life cycle rituals here have been impacted with acculturation of the Kinh culture. The Tay's lineages are moving towards both maintaining and preserving traditional culture and customs and receiving new cultural values of other ethnic groups. However, this process also poses a number of problems such as fading and
