Abstract

High-quality human-resource development is one of the three breakthroughs in
the Socio-Economic Development Strategy of Vietnam during the period from 2011 to
2020. The XII Party Congress has claimed: “Forming a complete strategy to develop
human resources for the country in general and regular industry and field in particular
with synchronous solutions, and focusing on training solutions, retraining human
resources in the education and training unit as well as in the production and business
process”. In particular, since the spread of internationalization and integration has been
both breadth and depth, human resources are the key to ensure a stable integration. Travel
is no exception. Improving the quality of human resources for tourism is of great interest.
Urgent issues need to be solved in the current period when the tourism industry is on a new
growth development contributing a significant proportion to the Gross domestic product of
the country. The relationship between educational institutions and tourism businesses are
considered the optimal solution to this problem. This article focuses on recognizing the
inevitability of linking between training units and tourism businesses which shows the
contents of linking activities, assessing the shortcomings besides the achievements of the
activities and cooperation in tourism human resource training. It also raises solutions to
strengthen the relationship between training institutions and tourism businesses to improve
the quality of human resources for tourism to match integration requirements in the current period.
