Abstract

During the resistance war against the French colonialism in South Vietnam (1945-1954), the militia forces played a particularly important role. Due to early consolidation in all aspects, the South Vietnam militia gained a gradual maturation, operated actively and effectively in coordination with the main military force, local troops and people in the combat against pacification and raid, military post attack, traffic raiding, and sabotage of the enemy's economy, agitprop among enemy troops… greatly contributed to the general resistance war achievements of the Southern people and left many bold marks in the progress of the resistance war against the French invasion.
