SOME FEATURES OF NATURE LAW AND BUDDHIST PERCEPTS

Abstract

From the perspective of studying Buddhism and the state, researchers have always believed that the main value of Buddhism is influence of morality on society. However recent researches have shown that Buddhism and law have special interaction in history and the contemporary world. The value of Buddhism and its precepts (“sila”) has the potential to positively influence on country's legal system in many ways by the mainstreams ideas of this religion on protection of man and nature, motivated by compassion. The article presents the concepts of natural law, the similarities between natural law and Buddhist thought and the influence of these ideas in the history of lawmaking in Vietnam.
