IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE AND ADAPTIVE CAPACITY IN THE MEKONG DELTA

Abstract

Climate change has been seriously affecting all aspects of residential life in the Mekong Delta. Although localities have implemented many solutions, they are mainly for situational resolution and lack of synchronization. In order to minimize the impact of climate change on production and residential life, it is necessary to have more general solutions, promoting advantages on the basis of mobilizing all resources, mechanisms to implement changing development orientation in accordance with the viewpoint “respecting and taking advantage of nature”, focusing on improving quality of human resource to effectively convert quality of livelihood and professions for income stability, enhancement of living standards.
