EXPLOITATION, UTILIZATION AND MANAGEMENT OF TIMBER RESOURCES BY VIETNAMESE FEUDAL STATE FROM 15TH CENTURY UNTIL 18TH CENTURY

Abstract

Forest resources in Vietnam are abundant and diverse, including timber resources. Throughout the nation’s history, from the ancient Vietnamese to the modern Vietnamese, timber have really provided multifaceted values for the material and spiritual life. The Feudal State of Vietnam knew how to make the most of this resource, at the same time, created frameworks on how to manage and exploit compatibly between the needs of daily life activities and the environment/landscape. By logical interpretation based on matching relevant facts from the document, the article proceeds to objectively reconstruct the internal picture of the timber resources of Vietnam from 15^th to 18^th century, thereby showing a new approach in multidimensional perception of medieval Vietnamese history.
