Abstract

Approaching the first draft documents by V.I. Lenin on ethnic and colonial issues had a significant impact on Nguyen Ai Quoc's political choice in the late 1920s at the Tours Congress. It was a vital choice, determining the revolutionary path in Vietnam afterwards. His political smartness and bravery has created Nguyen Ai Quoc - Ho Chi Minh with the doctrine of development meeting the needs of the nation to drive away the French colonialists and progress to socialism.

Some domestic and foreign researchers have discussed Ho Chi Minh’s "nationalism". However, it is not a narrow-minded nationalism or populism, but a crystallization of national and era values based on Marxism - Leninism. Following Ho Chi Minh's thought on prioritizing the national sake and taking it as the premise for solving economic, political, and social issues as well as expanding international exchanges and cooperation, The Communist Party of Vietnam perseveres in the direction of innovation and active integration, thereby harmoniously demonstrating the dialectic of national and human interests in an open, "flat" world, though very complicated as it is now.
