Abstract

The Mekong River has built up a downstream delta adjacent to the sea to create a landscape of islands, mangroves and rich plains in the Southwest of Vietnam. Viet, Khmer, Hoa and Cham ethnic people have adapted to the environment conditions here and created the cultural diversity of Southern cultural subregion. The local livelihood has developed its own agricultural, orchard and marine culture. This is the advantage to develop the “river - orchard - marine” model in order to diversify tourism products as well as launch the beauty of nature and Mekong habitants.
