OVERVIEW OF RESEARCH ON ORGANIZING EXPERIENTIAL ACTIVITIES IN VIETNAMESE PRIMARY SCHOOLS

Abstract

The 2018 General Education Program (GEP) introduces significant innovations compared to previous educational curricula. A notable feature is the mandatory inclusion of the Experiential Activity Program as a compulsory educational component at the primary level. Following the program’s commencement, a growing body of research on experiential activities has been conducted throughout Vietnam. This article offers a systematic overview and critical assessment of the existing literature concerning these activities. Specifically, the review categorises and clarifies studies across four key dimensions: Legal Framework, Theoretical Foundations, Current Status (Practice) and Management of Experiential Activities in primary schools. The article is also the basis for the author to make proposals and suggestions for educational scientists to continue conducting future studies to solve theoretical and practical problems of experiential activities in primary schools in Vietnam.
