PROMOTING REFLECTIVE PRACTICE FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN LANGUAGE TEACHING
Abstract
Reflection or reflective practice is regarded as one of teachers' lifelong learning skills that promote their professional development. Reflective practice's usefulness in improving teaching quality and transforming teacher identity has been validated in several research conducted throughout the world. The purpose of this research is to assess the feasibility of applying reflective practice to support teacher professional development at The university of People's Security. A SWOT analysis was carried out to evaluate the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Informatics' strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in employing reflective practice. The findings indicate that the use of reflective practice would be effective owing to the benefits of experienced instructors and the leaders' visions.
