MANAGEMENT OF LIBRARY COOPERATION ON LEARNING RESOURCES BY SETTING UP AND PROVIDING ONLINE PUBLIC ACCESS CATALOG SERVICE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES AND HUMANITIES, VIETNAM NATIONAL UNIVERSITY HO CHI MINH CITY

Abstract

Some recent studies show that setting up and providing Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) service is one of the solutions to manage effeciently the cooperation on learning resources among university libraries or between central library and branch libraries in a university. Through this solution, the univerisities can economize the cost of document supplement, enhances the quantity and quality of information which is used for training and research activities of staffs and learners. This article will introduce about the OPAC system; analyze the current situation of management of learning resources cooperation and clarify needs for the prvision of OPAC service at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM. Also, the authors make some suggestions for how to overcome the limitation of  management of learning resource cooperation
