RESEARCHING ON SUBJECTIVE FACTORS AFFECTING THE SELF-STUDY ACTIVITIES OF STUDENTS

Abstract

Higher education plays the role of providing knowledge and skills for students to participate in the labor market. At present, universities is gradually shifting to a choice-based credit system, therefore changing teaching activities to meet the requirement of a choice-based credit system, “learner-centered teaching”, is necessary. Self-study has an important role and is one of the decisive factors in creating learner’s knowledge, skills, and attitudes. The paper writes about concepts and researches related to student’s self-study activities. Thereby, the author proposes a model to study subjective factors affecting students' self-study activities such as learning needs, learning goals, autonomy in learning, learning methods and learning attitudes. Basing on judging the factors, this article proposes suggestions to help educational institutions have new approach in their training in order to promote self-study activities for students
