Abstract

Injury-prevention education for preschoolers is an essential task that ensures the safety and supports their holistic development. This study aims to identify the current situation of injury-prevention education for preschoolers in Binh Chanh Commune, Ho Chi Minh City. A mixed-methods approach combining theoretical analysis and field surveys was employed, with data collected from 115 administrators and teachers across five preschools. The findings indicate that injury-prevention education has been relatively comprehensively implemented. However, disparities remain in participants’ perceptions of objectives, program content, methods, and implementation conditions. The provision of foundational knowledge and the development of skills to respond to complex situations-such as drowning prevention and traffic safety-are still limited. Experiential and practice-based methods are not widely utilised. These findings provide a practical basis for educational managers to formulate measures aimed at improving the effectiveness of safety education for preschool children.
