THE IMPACT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ON PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHING: PERSPECTIVES FROM TEACHERS IN SOUTHERN VIETNAM
Abstract
In the increasing drive for digital transformation in education, the application of artificial intelligence (AI) offers significant opportunities to enhance the quality of primary school teaching. This study conducted a survey with 237 teachers across six southern provinces in Vietnam, using questionnaires combined with quantitative analysis to assess the impact of AI on teaching activities. The findings indicate that AI assists teachers in lesson design, learning material creation and fostering creativity, while also improving classroom management efficiency. However, there are challenges in implementation, including limited devices, insufficient IT skills and lack of instructional resources. The study proposes targeted solutions to optimise AI application, such as professional training, provision of learning materials and upgrades to technological infrastructure, contributing to improved teaching quality and the effective implementation of digital transformation in primary education.
