Abstract

This study explores the factors affecting employee engagement among Generation Z (born 1997-2002) in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Ho Chi Minh City. A survey was conducted with 400 Gen Z employees affiliated with the Go Vap District Business Association. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS version 22.0. The analysis identified eight significant factors influencing Gen Z engagement. The findings offer valuable insights for SMEs to tailor internal policies and operational strategies to better align with the expectations and characteristics of the Gen Z workforce. Additionally, the study underscores the importance of creating a supportive work environment that fosters motivation, development, and long-term commitment. As Gen Z continues to form a growing share of the labor market, enhancing their engagement represents not only a managerial imperative but also a strategic advantage for sustainable business development in a rapidly changing economic landscape.
