PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP IN EDUCATION IN VIETNAM POTENTIALS AND CHALLENGES

Abstract

In the context of globalisation and the rapid advancement of science and technology, education plays a crucial role in the socio-economic development strategies of every nation. However, as the government grants greater autonomy to public educational institutions, these institutions are facing increased pressures related to finance, quality, and governance capacity. In this context, Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) are regarded as a potential model for mobilizing resources from the private sector to enhance the quality and efficiency of education. This paper aims to systematise theoretical foundations, provide an overview of the PPP model in education, analyse its potential and the challenges it poses, and propose solutions to promote the effective application of this model, thereby contributing to sustainable educational development.
