INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCES IN VOCATIONAL TRAINING MANAGEMENT THROUGH BUSINESS ENGAGEMENT: LESSONS FOR VIETNAM
Abstract
This study examines the role of vocational training management in colleges, particularly in fostering strong linkages with businesses to enhance the quality of vocational education and training. Globally, many countries, including Norway, Germany, Russia, the United States, and Australia, have emphasized integrating vocational training with industry through various models. These include theoretical training at educational institutions combined with hands-on practice in enterprises (e.g., the 2+2 or 1+3 models), alternating in-school and workplace training, or direct business involvement in designing curricula, providing funding, and even supplying instructors. Businesses also play a crucial role in identifying emerging trends, advancing technologies, and essential workforce skills while contributing to the evaluation and continuous improvement of training programs to ensure they remain responsive and adaptable.
