QUALITY ASSURANCE AND ACCREDITATION OF TRAINING PROGRAMS: TENDENCY AND PRACTICE AT MIEN TAY CONSTRUCTION UNIVERSITY
Abstract
This article has conducted several theoretical issues regarding quality assurance and accreditation in higher education in Vietnam, as well as the Government’s intentions on this matter in the near future, considering this as a trend for higher education institutions to move towards quality assurance and accreditation of training programs. The authors have summarized the implementation of quality assurance and accreditation of training programs, analyzed quality assurance activities during the implementation process, and highlighted the results, advantages, difficulties, and challenges faced by the Mien Tay Construction University. Consequently, authors propose several solutions to establish, maintain, and strengthen the quality assurance and accreditation of training programs, as well as to reinforce the internal quality assurance system of the University. On this basis, the University’s training activities have now been carried out to ensure quality, reflecting the vision, mission, and core values pursued by the staff, lecturers, employees, and students according to the educational philosophy declared by the University: “friendly environment - scientific knowledge - practical application”.
