Abstract

In dairy farming, along with the increase in the number of cows, the risk of odors and harmful microorganisms discharged into the soil, water, and air environment from livestock is increasingly higher if there is no appropriate treatment. The use of microbiological inoculants COSTE-MT01 aims to minimize the odor generation and density of some types of unuseful microorganisms generated from breeding process. The COSTE-MT01 inoculant was used on 5 concentrated-breeding dairy farms with the number of cows greater than 30 to study the changes of some microbiological indicators after using inoculants. The results showed that: Before using inoculants, E.coli ranged from 101-6x101 CFU/m3, Coliform 25-4.5x102 CFU/m3, mold 30-6.5x103 CFU/m3. After 3 hours using inoculant, the E.coli content was 1-2 CFU/m3 of air, the Coliform density was 102 CFU/m3, the mold density decreased to 3.5x102 CFU/m3. The density of Coliform, E.coli and mold also decreased in the area surrounding dairy farms. In addition, the efficiency of gas treatment in the barn was alsp significantly improved after 30 days of inoculant use. Concentrations of CH4, H2S, NH3 decreased within the allowable limits of QCVN 06: 2009 / BTNMT. CO2 increased slightly. The efficiency of treating CH4, H2S, NH3, CO2 gas around the barn are lower than inside the dairy cow breeding after 30 days of using COSTE-MT01.
