Mangrove flora diversity in Mui Ca Mau tidal ecosystem

Abstract

     Mangrove flora in Mui Ca Mau coastal area play important roles in preventing sea enroachment and coastal erosion, protecting the environment and maintaining ecological balance as well as providings foods for coastal fauna. Mangrove trees also protect tidal sediment against erosion caused by wave and tide, shield the coast from storms and support the tidal zone expansion. The mangrove flora in the Mui Ca Mau coast cover large area and have high diversity in species. This paper presents the diversity of mangrove flora in different habitats and its distribution in Mui Ca Mau region.
