THE IMPACT OF ONLINE SOCIAL NETWORKS ON STUDENTS' LEARNING OUTCOMES AT HO CHI MINH CITY UNIVERSITY OF FOOD INDUSTRY

Abstract

In this article, the authors examine the impact of social networks on the learning outcomes of students at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry (HUFI). Drawing upon relevant literature, the authors focuses on the relationship between social networks with the learning outcomes of students, explore and measure the extent of the elements of social networks affect academic performance of students, thereby making policy implications for education of school administrators to take advantage of social networks to improve learning outcomes. This study gathered survey data from a convenience sample of 1533 University students at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry, the analysis showed that the factors are seeking information, entertainment, fashionable and Study tool have statistically significant positive impacts on learning outcomes of students.
