COMPARISON OF THE TOTAL PHENOLIC CONTENT AND OTHERS ANTIOXIDANT CAPACITY OF 4 FRUIT SEEDS

Abstract

In this study, the total phenolic content and antioxidant capacity of 4 fruit seeds of rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum L), jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus), mango (Mangifera indica ) and longan (Dimocarpus longan) were investigated. The fisrt step, a fruit seed that had the highest total phenolic content and antioxidant capacity was selected from these fruit seeds. This study is basis of polyphenolic extracts of fruit seed. The results showed that: The total phenolic content and antioxidant capacity of mango seed is the highest, followed by longan. The total phenolic content of rambutan seed is higher than jackfruit seed‘s, but its antioxidant capacity is the lowest.
